Karen Main, Ph.D. (ABD)

Karen Main, Ph.D. (ABD), brings over twenty-five years of experience as a teacher, facilitator, coach, and consultant to the field of leadership and team development. Her work has been recognized by The Asch Center at Harvard, Mountain States Employer’s Council, and the Association for Talent Development. Karen holds numerous certifications including advanced credentials in Emergenetics©, certification in the ToP© method of facilitation, and certification by the Harvard Kennedy School in “The Art & Practice of Leadership,” along with advanced degrees in Sociology from the University of Colorado (BA) and the University of Denver (PhD, ABD, MA).

Her first book, “Pitfalls and Possibilities: A Leadership Fable,” received numerous accolades including a Bronze award in the Business Fable category in the 2022 Axiom Book Awards. She is a requested speaker at conference and association meetings across the country and is known for her interactive and conversational style of delivery. She regularly conducts in-person, virtual, and hybrid training workshops for public sector, utility, and transportation entities through her consulting company, Innovations in Training and her online university, Leadership U. She has held leadership positions with the Colorado chapter of ATD, IPMA-HR Colorado, and the Grand Canyon State chapter of IPMA-HR. 

Outside of her training and consulting work, she’s an avid golfer, swimmer, and aspiring musician with an insatiable appetite for amazing tacos.
